Vassilios Papavassiliou holds a Ph.D in Finance from the Queen’s University of Belfast, U.K., a Master’s degree in Finance and Banking from the Athens University of Economics and Business, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. His research interests span the areas of market microstructure, high-frequency finance and asset pricing. His work has been published in international refereed journals and he has acted as referee for a number of finance journals as well. He has taught finance courses to both undergraduate and postgraduate students at the Athens University of Economics and Business and other universities. Since 2011, he holds a Research Fellowship at the Department of Management Science and Technology of the Athens University of Economics and Business. He brings significant multi-year experience in investment banking and has held senior management positions in both multinational and Greek domestic banking institutions.
