Event on Global Governance, organised by the Crisis Observatory in collaboration with the French Institute

On Monday, 09 December 2013, Mr. Pascal Lamy (former Director-General of the World Trade Organization, 2005-2013 and Honorary President of Paris-based think tank Notre Europe) delivered a speech in the French Institute of Greece, at 19:30.

The subject of his speech was: “Global Governance out of Order?”

While economies and societies are undergoing a process of approximation to each other, in light of Globalization, why is it that global governance is still lagging behind? How can we find a solution to this alarming gap?

Pascal Lamy answered these questions, given his theoretical and practical knowledge of international economic relations and thanks to the experience that he gained throughout his presence and activity in this domain.

Mr. Nikos Vettas (Professor at the Economic Department of the University of Athens and Director General of the Foundation for Ecooomic and Insustrial Research (IOBE) offered his comments, with Mr. Loukas Tsoukalis (Professor at the University of Athens and President of ELIAMEP) in the role of moderator.

The event was jointly organised by the Crisis Observatory, which functions under the aegis of ELIAMEP and is funded by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation) and the Foundation for Ecooomic and Insustrial Research.
